Copper River Sockeye Salmon
$0
Wild sockeye is known to be the richest among salmons. Generally smaller, thinner, and leaner overall but has a firm, compact flesh. With a beautiful dark but bright red color.
Season: mid-June through July
Almost all the sockeye salmon harvested in the United States comes from Alaska. Sockeye salmon can also be caught off the West Coast, mainly in Washington, with a small amount caught in Oregon. The largest harvest of sockeye salmon in the world occurs in the Bristol Bay area of southwestern Alaska where 10 million+ sockeye salmon may be caught each year during a short, intensive fishery lasting only a few weeks.
